Clearly you can see I have been quipping about social media in my last few posts.
All those who follow my blog, must remember when I spoke about the lovely duo at CoChineChine in my ‘Dinky talks with big people’ feature.
Well a little birdie(in this case a Bunny) tells me these girls are using their Facebook page to the maximum and launching a treasure hunt on the 2nd of April celebrating the Easter spirit. I have a little child in me, and I go wheeeeeee when I start to think of a Virtual treasure hunt.
Its dead simple, A SWASH egg is stashed away on CoChineChine.com somewhere, and all those eyes who spot it, just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the link of the hidden egg and you stand a chance to win a Comme des Garçons’ wallet!! Yayyyyy!!
I have had my eye on a few actually, and after pampering myself with a Neon Marc Jacob coin/iphone/oyester card holder, I am trying to grow the neon family in my bag with this CDG wallet.
If you are lucky you might win this polka dot embossed one with cochinechine:)
Social Media is taking over the fashion world in every way unique possible!!
I Just visited the Future Fashion at Westfield, Shepherd Bush today where they had big screens installed with iPhone-esque touch feel to create mood boards and style board. It was bringing Polyvore to a retail environment. They even had a 3D movie running with all the models styled in various themes and trends, like Print, Bright colour pop, Lace et al.
All you had to do was put your 3d glasses on and watch as they almost came up and whisked their hair around while strutting back!
I have made a little dodgy video on my iPhone and sharing it here just to give all those creative fashion marketeers a heads up on this social-style-me up event!
I was very pleased to see Dion Lee’s collection at the London Fashion week. The year I moved to Sydney, he had just released his debut collection and all every magazine talked about was Dion Lee!It was only a matter of time I feel in love with his intelligent designs, intense pattern cutting and edginess provided through structure!
This year, following his first international show at London, he follows his collection with an eerie video directed by Lorin Askill, starring Ruby Jean Wilson breathe while Lee’s pieces come to life gradually!
As Mr. Lee says
‘It explores the core concept, which is breathing, in a really abstract way. I liked the idea of focusing on the breath and this more inward exploration of how breathing and the movement of your body are linked.’
For all those who don’t know,I just changed my jobs, and back in London town I haven’t had the time to sit down on my beloved to write for a long time!
I visited SCOOP International London last month, which I would declare one of the best contemporary buying shows London has seen as yet.It was a buyers haven, knowing all they want for the season is stocked neatly in an aesthetically pleasing series, dotted by a few art structure here and there(considering it was held at the lovely Satchi Gallery it is bound to have that effect!)
There were quite a few designers who caught my eye, from luxurious knitwear brand Ross X Bute (A favourite amongst Kate Middleton’s places to shop…shhh our little secret) to contemporary jewellery designer Fiona Paxton (Who,combines a traditional Indian Bead work from Jhabua,Madhya Pradesh, with semi precious stones) everyone had the best of shows put up!
One designer who caught my eye and absolutely translated her tranquility into her collection was Rachel Antonio, with her eponymous label started in 2010. An Edinburgh College of Art graduate, this designer has had an experiences across Architecture at Hakes Associates in London(an architecture turned shoe-design firm) and fashion . No wonder the collection oozed that kinda of a modern urban architectural landscape mood with detailing to smart origami-esque pleating and folding. I spoke to quite a few people who went to SCOOP that weekend, and at some point of time in their conversation they spoke to this talented architect turned fashion designer,so you all know where my bets are this season!
Have look at her latest collection!

Scottish designer duo Lyndsay Pagan and Jennifer Coyle of Obscure Couture were a bright lot wearing their latest at Somerset house!
The graduates of Heriot-Watt’s School of Textiles & Design in Galashiels, clearly looked elated after their successful show the night before, with buyers and editors loving their collection!! In case you want to have a look at their lovely little Obscure shop, click here:)
