The big question…
Well it could be…
Being the only fashion designer in my group of friends comes with a lot of responsibility. Your word stands for style and an endorsement to a purchase. See what I mean by responsibility?
On one such occasion, my friend asked me to meet him downtown NYC to help him find the ring! His girl friend lives overseas and I have just seen pictures of them, so it was a difficult choice to make. I treated my role that of an advisor or a consultant
My brief was : Bold, Platinum and Solitaire.
One stark difference I noticed between Engagement rings in UK and Engagement rings in the USA, is well..the SIZE!
They don’t go unnoticed here..and I don’t know if it’s a cultural thing, but when it comes to rings, NYC loves a big ass ring!
So we saw a few stores, and I actually ended up liking quite a few (like you would!). However my favorite were the Van Cleef & Arpel Icone Solitaire and David Yurman‘s renaissance ring.
In case you are planning to make that big purchase for your lady love..have a look at my edit, and hopefully you find what you are looking for..the woman of your dreams saying a big YES when you go down on one knee!
