Secret Rentez-Vous for Fashion Bloggers

LDN Bloggers and French Start-up Rentez-Vous partnered for an event on the 11th May at Port-Of-Entry in Old street.

Rentez-Vous was founded in 2012 by Fiona Designi, with a novel idea of renting out your wardrobe. The idea is simple, as we all MUST acknowledge we all have loads of clothes in the back of our wardrobe which we sometimes forget about(Cheeky me) or just one those “I don’t know when I will wear that dress” dresses! The idea is to recycle these clothes, and get some money out of the money you spent on it initially by renting out your clothes for 2-3 weeks! Something like renting out your couch for a period of time. None of us mind a bit of extra ch-ching!

So, this was a one of a kind event, held for the very first time in London. To mark the launch of the website, Rentez-Vous partnered with LDN Bloggers to get a hand selected-invite-only Bloggers in with 5 pieces of their clothing, equipped with a functional Paypal account and a willingness to style themselves in other’s pieces!

The result was spectacular afternoon with clothes being swapped and cameras clicking away!

Any-who, my friend Chloé, founder of chloedigital.com and I are such geeks, that we decided to fuse her undying love for tech codes and my street style images into this little widget! Of course this would have not happened had Fiona not randomly mentioned it over a glass of vino! Birds of the same feather you see!

It tells you what Blogger rented who’s clothes, how very clever? Even if I have to say it myself!

If you are a blogger and want to attend the next Rentez-Vous’s event on the 30th May, Email bloggers@ldnbloggers.com to receive your invite.

Till then! Adios, Happy posing and now even a bit of coding, thanks to Chloe!

Au Rentez-Vous déjà?

Love

A.Sauvage and Justin O’Shea

Last time I wrote about Justin O’Shea was my Monday Men post in December and secretly everytime I saw his mere presence in a blog or a magazine, my heart skipped a beat!

Thus, it was no surprise when I found out that the amazing Adrien Sauvage did an exclusive shoot with Justin O’Shea wearing sartorial pieces from A.Sauvage’s Classic collection.A secret bird tells me Justin and Sauvage spent time hand selecting the pieces shown below on Justin.

Clicked in Mayfair, London, The pictures are powerful and sauve. Credit goes to both the men!

Justin joins the likes of Jude Law,Spike Jonze, Craig Roberts and many more who have been photographed by Sauvage.

Sauvage, is multi faceted talent bag! London based Fashion Designer,Photographer and Director, is the man behind This Is Not a Suit and talks about the Art of  D.E (Dress Easy) in a video which he directed in 2011.( Video at the bottom of the page)

The Amazing 5inchandup Sandra Hagelstam

Meeting Sandra Hagelstam of 5inchandup.com recently was like bumping into a college friend. I had heard her speak at a few events before and I always thought she was really approachable, and that she was! Smiling away with her camera and her stunning Celine shoes(don’t know how you do it girl!), Sandra is the girl next door both on and off her blog(Albeit a very stylish Girl next door)!

If you ever spot her on the streets for her street style blog “The Neighbourhood watch” or outside Fashion Weeks, you must observe her while she is taking pictures. She dives likes a swan to get her self in a position to get her shot. Her footworks, (including the shoes) are a sight!

Here are some of my pictures of her taken recently.

Dent De Man Trousers are Hot stuff!

I met my friend Chris Chasseaud last night for a catch up from our crazy blog-hobnobbing schedules and we started talking about this new label who he is the Brand Manager for, Dent De Man. I absolutely loved the new photo shoot…watch the space for more..and I realised I have been awfully slack in posting this image!

The first 2 images are what I clicked at London Collections of Toni Tran of Fashitects.blogspot.co.uk who is an Ambassador of Dent De Man and it looks as if he and Dent De Man and Toni are a match made in Fashion Heaven. The rest of the image are from their campaign.

It’s an upcoming label and has already created a buzz around with its eclectic African Inspired prints individually sourced, each telling its story.

It is a great change from the existing sartorial scene and gives a new twist to the Modern Gentleman’s wardrobe.Of course, you need to be open to work with prints in your wardrobe..New Year Resolution Number 31 perhaps?

Have a look and go “like” them on Facebook to know when they start selling online soon!

London Street Style Oscar de la Renta Biker Ikat Jacket

Millie Brown was my last click of the day, the light was almost gone, my fingers were ice-cold and I had lost all sensations to them.

I had packed my camera and was walking away when I saw Millie listening to her iPod sitting on the bench. An artist herself (you can see her work here),Millie spends most of her time between UK and USA. Dream job!

I love how she has combined a vintage sweater, J Brand Jeans with beautiful warm colored Oscar de la Renta Jacket with Black Wedge boots. I always like the equation of One statement piece at a time and it works here. You can’t really see here, but her accessories are Dominic Jones which is a must see, so be sure to click on that link.

This Ikat print Oscar de la Renta jacket is from the Spring 2005 collection, but the Biker jacket has made such a strong revival that you may be able to get your hand on various textures and print, like this Clover Canyon printed jacket crepe de chine jacket.

London Mens Collection:Chris Chasseaud

It was great bumping into fellow blogger Chris,at London Collections. I met Chris late last year at a few events and then again at our last London Bloggers Meetup at Bumpkin Notting Hill.

He is a contributor for a few websites (apart from his own blog) such as Ape to Gentlemen and Be Well dressed.

It was a quite a contrasting mix at LCM this year, there was the quintessential Sartorial Dandy look, and on the other side you had a HUGE urban-street Cool  Shoreditch look which was seen across the 3 days. For me that is London, the contrast between the East London Urban and West London Sauve coming together to make London Fashion Scene so distinct.

London Collections Men: Dandyism and Collar Pin

In my career as a Fashion Designer I have had the pleasure and privilege to work with a few Menswear brands, both urban and tailored, and I must admit I do have a bias towards the sartorial look.

I had a quick chat with Dan Kenny from Idol Magazine who was dressed to the T, in a textured wool navy suit and polka dot tie. What I loved was how his orange socks matched the LCM pin. But the cake was taken away by the little golden Collar Pin.

I remember growing up to my Mom (who was a teacher in the same school as my sister and I) getting home with us,only to switch on the tele to get a sneak preview of Pierce Brosnan in Remington Steele, and thats the first thing I thought of when I saw the Collar pin. Suave!

More to come in gradual batches:)

London Street Style: Trench and Zara Bag

I clicked  Liv Østrem, a menswear Tailor from Norway at London Collections Mens right before she was going in for a show.

I loved how classic her style is with the Michael Kors watch Gold watch and Gold Spherical ring, a cozy pin striped scarf and a fresh take on a trench.

That Zara bag, has been such a huge hit in London, and I have spotted people in my Bikram Yoga class carrying that as their Yoga bag (I and though Yoga is all about Eco – Organic bags:) ).

All you non-Londoners, have you seen/own this Zara bag and do you love it?
