Summer Trio “Get The Look”

One trend which we all know is the “Colour Pop Dresses”.

I would have probably not noticed these girls, had they not been walking together.Taking a modern twist on the “oh so Pin-up Retro Lipstick”, these girls have fused High-Street brands with Vintage accessories.

The MIDI is a huge hit, and works for all heights.Play with varying lengths reflect an era dressing.

Taking inspiration from these lovely ladies here, I have created 2 boards to help you buy the looks!

P.s: My Vintage “Must Have” is a bright Kate Moss for Rimmel red matt Lipstick with Mac eyeliner.

Please share with fellow readers your Vintage “Must-have”!

East London Matchbox Girl

I always get amazed by how quirky London can get!

I am really happy to say I have been to the funniest stores, seen a Piano covered with stickers, witnessed a wall change it’s colour by the hour, thanks to the amazing hub near where I live!

I admit I haven’t seen much, but out of what I have seen, this girl was my latest GASP of amazement!!

She was selling vintage match boxes! Yeah..stuff which you will throw in the trash is going to be gold dust tomorrow!!

She hails from Japan, but when she was clearing out her Grand dad’s trunk, she came across these, and decided to share her joy with the rest of us!

I love how she sat there, with her Collarless Polka dot shirt, her Androgynous Shoes, blazer chucked over so casually, and those killer glasses!

I want to know how many of you are going to try this look, with this simple poll:) (As you can see I am trying my hand around the WordPress features:)

I definitely am thinking of this look! Cant wait to get my hands on a nice Polka shirt! Also, Might just get those vintage gold dust Match boxes!! Alright..I gave in!!

Make up your HEAD

Hairdresser at BatisteBirds,bees and Butterflies.

Scarves should not be limited to a "Bad Hair Days",and Vintage fairs.

Sorry this was a Sneak shot, but someone cut my frame, But i loved it!

Or Glam it up.

The Vintage Fashion Fair was actually inspiring to be in, since I had just come back from Paris after an inspiration/research trip for my day job, and this was the cherry to the icing.

The simplest way to go vintage is, dress up your “votre tête“.

You saw a lot of Head Dressing, since Batiste, had a stall where they churned out masterpieces of vintage Hair do’s on the public.

That is where I spotted this talented hair artist with the Orange Hummingbird on her head.Rest as we call was history.

Style Tip: Huge on WGSN trends is the scarf around the head.Go for the bright colours for the oomph.

Ahoy Captain!

I recently met someone, who is a the Men’s Jersey Designer for a leading UK brand. One topic led to another and we came down to the discussion of the ever longing Breton Stripe/Nautical look. He believed, despite the fact that it was in “Trend” 2-3 years ago on the runway, how people still love wearing it, and if it the trend is trickling down at all? Well,I believe it is just the easiest wear!

It could be the ease one can carry it off with, or the versatility of it, the androgyny of it, that I could pick up my Dad’s old FU Stovepipe jeans and wear a Zara Nautical stripe and make the look so classic with a Topshop Blazer!

The very next day,I spotted this young Man, Mike at an old vintage thrift store which sold naval/military clothes carried the same look with ease.

I love how the look has been given a modern look with the leather shoes, and the dual tones glasses, and of course the belt( Don’t real know if it is Vintage Gucci, or just a thrifted one?)

Well, I must admit, it was his attitude as well, which captured the whole story of the, “Sailor Boy, stopping by a port, to grab a couple of drinks, and then off you go again!”
